Items needed

When reporting for the test, candidates must bring:

  • their LAT Admission Ticket (this must be printed for test centre sittings but may be either printed or digital for remote proctored sittings)
  • their current photo-bearing identification document
  • a blue/black pen and/or pencil
  • an eraser, sharpener and clear bottle/glass of water (optional).

Access to food (including sweets and nuts), medication or other medical equipment (e.g. support cushion) during the test will only be permitted if candidates have been granted relevant reasonable adjustments.

Test centres

Clocks are provided in the test room. Candidates may wear an analogue wristwatch, but any alarm or stopwatch features must be switched off.

Valuables such as wallets, keys and mobile phones may be placed under the desk during the test. Mobile phones must be switched off and placed face up under the desk. Mobile phones and wallets must not be carried on the body and must not be accessed during the test.

Candidates are advised to bring only essential items, as neither the test centre nor the LAT Office can be held responsible for the security of their belongings. There will be only limited space to store bags and candidates will not be allowed to access their bags until the end of the test.

Remote proctoring

Additional items required for remote proctored sittings:

  • one blank A4 piece of paper for response planning.
  • hand-held mirror or reflective device or mobile phone with a forward-facing camera or external webcam to show your proctor what is around your monitor.

Candidate's desks must be clear of all other items, (including mobile phones during the test).

Candidates can have their mobile phone in the test room, in case the proctor needs to call them (for instance, if they experience technical issues such as internet drop-out during the test session). However, they are not allowed to use their mobile phone in any other circumstances during the test session. No other people, including dependent children or animals (pets) are permitted in the test room (unless candidates have been granted relevant reasonable adjustments, for instance support animals).

All other items, including but not limited to calculators, dictionaries, iPods, iPads, tablets, digital watches, smart watches, smart glasses, pencil cases, rulers, highlighters, audio or recording electronic devices of any kind, are prohibited and their use will be considered an act of misconduct.

Admission Tickets

Your Admission Ticket is your official confirmation and permission to attend your test. Admission tickets are released approximately 2 weeks before your test sitting. You will be notified once it is available for download from your ACER account.

If you are sitting at a test centre, your Admission Ticket will list the location and arrival time for your sitting. If attending a test centre, your Admission Ticket must be printed on a blank piece of paper. It can be printed in either black-and-white or colour.

If you are sitting your test by remote proctoring, you may have either a digital or printed copy of your Admission Ticket for your sitting.

Please ensure you check your Admission Ticket carefully. First and last names and date of birth must match the ID you will present on your test day. Other names (including middle names) are not required on your Admission Ticket. If there are any errors, or you are having trouble accessing your Admission Ticket, please contact the LAT office immediately.
